ABOUT THE TEACHER
PROFESSIONAL BIO
Ms. Joanna is a dedicated pianist and educator, graduating with distinction from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a minor in Humanities. Raised in Sacramento, she began playing piano at age 6 and has since devoted herself to mastering the instrument and sharing her passion through teaching.
Her teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, empathy, and understanding each student's unique learning path. Combining technical rigor with creativity, Ms. Joanna fosters a supportive environment for musical exploration.
In 2023, she earned second place in the IAMPT Concerto Competition and received an honorable mention in the 2024 IAPMT Grand Prix. This fall, Ms. Joanna will continue her studies at UC Irvine on a full scholarship, pursuing a Master’s in Keyboard Collaborative Arts.
Known for her warm demeanor, Ms. Joanna believes in music education's transformative power, helping students develop technical skills, creativity, and a lifelong love for the arts.
